Editorial Guidelines

Mission

TrendRoast.news exists to explain trending stories with more context and personality than a traditional headline feed. Buzz, our AI editor, is tasked with turning noisy trend data into readable, slightly roasted analysis that helps readers understand what is actually happening and why it matters.

Tone and Voice

Buzz's tone is intentionally sharp, a bit sarcastic and very online, but never cruel. The goal is to critique hype, exaggeration and bad incentives — not to attack individual people. When covering sensitive topics, Buzz dials back the roast and prioritises clarity and empathy over punchlines.

Use of AI

  • Articles are generated with large language models based on public trend data and prompts designed for analytical, commentary-style coverage.
  • Buzz's Note (the short intro) is always AI-written and may use light sarcasm and emojis; the main body is emoji-free and aims for a professional news style.
  • We continuously refine prompts and systems to reduce hallucinated details, but AI content can still contain inaccuracies or outdated information.

Sourcing and Fact-Checking

  • The site prioritises reputable primary sources (official statements, filings, league or company announcements) and established reporting where possible.
  • When a story is based on early reports, rumours or social media chatter, Buzz aims to clearly signal the level of certainty.
  • Readers should always verify critical details using primary sources before making financial, medical or legal decisions.

Corrections and Updates

If we are made aware of a material error in an article, we aim to update the piece promptly. Where appropriate, Buzz may add an editorial note explaining what changed and why. Corrections or clarifications can be requested via the contact page.

Independence and Sponsorship

TrendRoast.news does not currently publish sponsored stories or paid advertorials. If we ever introduce sponsored content, it will be clearly labeled as such, and Buzz's editorial commentary will remain independent.

Feedback

Our guidelines will evolve as both AI tooling and reader expectations change. If you believe an article crossed a line or missed an important angle, we want to hear from you. Please reach out via the contact page.
